Due to his fortune, he has often been celebrated in both Western and Eastern traditions as an extraordinary creator of a new world that united Europe and Asia. This study aims to investigate the perception and representation of Alexander and his successors in the pre-Islamic Iranian world. The intent is to provide a different reading of a historical event, the Macedonian conquest of the Persian empire, that is fundamental to the definition of relations between East and West.
