WHY THIS NOTICE

This page describes how to manage the site with reference to the processing of personal data of users who consult it. It is a disclosure that is also provided pursuant to art. 13 of Legislative Decree no. 196/2003 – Code regarding the protection of personal data to those who interact with the web services of the former Nardecchia srl bookshop in Rome, accessible electronically from the address:

The information is provided only for the site of the former Nardecchia srl bookshop and not for other websites that may be consulted by the user via links. The information is also inspired by the Recommendation n. 2/2001 that the European authorities for the protection of personal data, gathered in the Group established by art. 29 of directive no. 95/46/EC, adopted on 17 May 2001 to identify some minimum requirements for the collection of personal data online, and, in particular, the methods, timing and nature of the information that the data controllers must provide to users when they connect to web pages, regardless of the purpose of the connection.

THE “OWNER” OF THE TREATMENT

Following consultation of this site, data relating to identified or identifiable persons may be processed. The “owner” of their treatment is the Libreria formerly Nardecchia srl, which has its registered office in Rome (Italy), Via P. Revoltella 105-107.

RESPONSIBLE FOR THE TREATMENT

The company Inera Srl has been designated responsible for the treatment pursuant to article 29 of the Code regarding the protection of personal data, as it is in charge of the maintenance of the technological part of the site.

PLACE OF DATA PROCESSING

The treatments connected to the web services of this site take place at the aforementioned headquarters of the Bookshop and are only handled by technical personnel of the Office in charge of the treatment. If necessary, the data connected to the online request forms can be processed by the personnel of the company that takes care of the maintenance of the technological part of the site, Inera S.r.l. (responsible for the treatment pursuant to article 29 of the Code regarding the protection of personal data), at the headquarters of the company itself.

TYPES OF DATA PROCESSED

The computer systems and software procedures used to operate this website acquire, during their normal operation, some personal data whose transmission is implicit in the use of Internet communication protocols. This is information that is not collected to be associated with identified interested parties, but which by their very nature could, through processing and association with data held by third parties, allow users to be identified. This category of data includes the IP addresses or domain names of the computers used by users who connect to the site, the addresses in URI (Uniform Resource Identifier) notation of the requested resources, the time of the request, the method used to submit the request to the server, the size of the file obtained in response, the numerical code indicating the status of the response given by the server (successful, error, etc.) and other parameters relating to the operating system and the user’s IT environment. These data are used for the sole purpose of obtaining anonymous statistical information on the use of the site and to check its correct functioning and are canceled immediately after processing. The data could be used to ascertain responsibility in the event of hypothetical computer crimes against the site. Except for this eventuality, at present the data on web contacts do not persist for more than seven days. As regards customers who optionally, explicitly and voluntarily contact us through e-mail messages by providing us with their e-mail address and other data, the need to respond to the aforementioned requests involves the acquisition of the sender’s address as well as any other personal data inserted in the email or online contact form. In any case it is specified that the aforementioned online contact form requires the explicit consent of the user to acquire the data supplied by him.
For the correct functioning of the site, technical cookies are used which can be of two types:
persistent: they remain stored on the user’s browser up to a certain pre-set date which varies from Cookie to Cookie;
of session: they are deleted once the browser is closed.
Individual users, if they do not agree with their use, can in any case disable these cookies using the tools made available by the browser used, aware that their absence could cause an incorrect display of the website.
Notes: The so-called “session cookies” used on this site avoid the use of other IT techniques potentially prejudicial to the privacy of users’ browsing and do not allow the acquisition of personal identification data of the user. The Library is not responsible for the cookie policy implemented by the social networks on which it has a profile.

OPTIONAL PROVISION OF DATA

Apart from that specified for navigation data, the user is free to provide the personal data contained in the service request forms to the Library or indicated in contacts with it to request the sending of information, informative material or other communications . Failure to provide such data may make it impossible to obtain what has been requested. For the sake of completeness, it should be remembered that in some cases (not subject to the ordinary management of this site) the Authority may request news and information pursuant to article 157 of the Code regarding the protection of personal data, for the purpose of controlling the processing of personal data. In these cases, the answer is mandatory under penalty of an administrative fine.

PROCESSING METHODS

Personal data is processed with automated tools for the time strictly necessary to achieve the purposes for which it was collected. Specific security measures are observed to prevent data loss, illicit or incorrect use and unauthorized access.

RIGHTS OF INTERESTED PARTS

The subjects to whom the personal data refer have the right at any time to obtain confirmation of the existence or otherwise of the same data and to know its content and origin, verify its accuracy or request its integration or updating, or rectification (article 7 of the Code regarding the protection of personal data). Pursuant to the same article, one has the right to request cancellation, transformation into anonymous form or blocking of data processed in violation of the law, as well as to oppose in any case, for legitimate reasons, their processing.
